Jack Hammer

Jack HammerIn this photo you can see the cuts I made.  Now I am using a 90 lb jack hammer to chip out the concrete.  This was way too hard so I ….Got a 20 lb jack hammer.  This was easier but it was way too slow.  Shortly after this photo I gave up.  I managed to get about 20 inches into the concrete and still no break through.

  1. A small rotary rock drill might be a lot easier than a jack hammer. With a good shooter, a little dynamite (as a hydraulic charge) would go a long way with a lot less effort.
Hope you’re young enough to consider all this “fun” to be worth the effort ! (Its fun reading about it) Godspeed.

  2. I bought the biggest hammer drill (around $300.00) Menards had … the old one – about 10 yrs old gave out. We drilled holes and then used the jack hammer. What is a rock drill? What is a shooter? Is this something that can be rented?
