Second Dam Step – or – Step #2 The Dam

The plan is to restore the washout gate next to the mill and then use this gate to draw the water away from the center of the millpond.  Of course we have to wait until the creek is low.  We got our opportunity the next summer 2007.  We had very little rain for several weeks….. So, we started.  First we knocked all the lose concrete, rocks …etc from the old dam.  We cut all the old wood from the dam that we could and then pressure washed it.  Here is a photo of Karen and I working on the dam.
